Our Story
TalkBack was founded in 2003 to provide quality speech and language therapy services to children. In 2007, we started providing speech, language, and feeding therapy in the Tri-cities and surrounding areas of East Tennessee. In 2008, we opened our Kingsport office, followed by the opening of our Johnson City clinic in 2010.
In 2011, we expanded our services to include pediatric occupational and physical therapy services in both of our Kingsport and Johnson City offices. In addition to our clinical offices, we offer limited home therapy visits and provide contract services to several local school systems, and daycare centers.
In 2020, we added ADOS-2 testing. The ADOS-2 is a standardized assessment tool used in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Our Founders
Ashley Morris, MSP, CCC-SLP, CEO, graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary education from Clemson University in May 1998 and a Masters of Speech Pathology (plus 30 hours) from the University of South Carolina in August 2000.
Ashley has worked in school, daycare, home, and hospital settings in North Carolina and Tennessee. She has her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Tennessee.
Jon Morris, COO, graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in May 1996. He started managing TalkBack Pediatric Therapy business operations in 2008.
Ashley and Jon have 3 children, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. They enjoy spending time with their kids, running, hiking, and traveling in their spare time.
